I’m a Christian wife and mother, raising our children just outside of Austin, Texas. Working with children has been my passion for as long as I can remember. That passion first took shape in 2006 when I became a church group leader for kids ages 4 to 10. I quickly realized this was more than a job—it was a calling.
To deepen my knowledge and skills, I earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education, with a strong emphasis on child psychology. Over the years, I’ve worked in a wide variety of roles, including daycare settings, nanny positions, and teaching in elementary and high schools. I began my first formal teaching position in 2012 and have been dedicated to education ever since.
Along the way, I’ve completed training in child development, child safety, recognizing and preventing abuse, supporting children with special needs, and exploring educational methods like Waldorf and Montessori.
First Choice Nannies was born from a dream I’ve carried in my heart for many years. I truly believe God has called me to serve families in this way—to help them find exceptional, trustworthy care for their children. It’s an honor to walk alongside parents in this journey, offering peace of mind and support they can rely on.
I’m a wife and mom of four, and my family’s journey has shaped the way I care for and walk alongside other families. After relocating from Miami, we’re grateful to call Leander home.
From a young age, I felt drawn to working with children who needed extra care and patience. That calling eventually led me into the classroom, where I spent many years working with students in both elementary and middle school settings. Being part of their daily lives—listening, encouraging, and meeting them where they were—deepened my belief in the importance of consistency, trust, and feeling truly cared for.
Those experiences also played a meaningful role in our family’s decision to foster and pursue adoption. Walking closely with children from varied backgrounds shaped how we approach care at home, reminding us how powerful stability, kindness, and safe relationships can be.
Over the years, I’ve learned from a variety of child-centered and trauma-informed approaches, and I bring those lessons into both my family life and my work with families. As a parent of children with diverse needs, I understand how important it is to feel heard, supported, and never alone in the process.
Today, I’m grateful to continue working alongside families. I care deeply about helping families feel confident, understood, and supported, and I’m honored to be part of a team that shares that heart.
Hi, I’m Aja! I have a genuine love for children and have spent my entire career working with them in various capacities. I've spent so much time with kids, that I sometimes forget how to adult.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, shopping, traveling, spending quality time with loved ones, and exploring new foods. I also appreciate the moments of relaxation.
I can’t wait to add my enthusiasm and creativity to the team!
